I believe improvements to local infrastructure in our constituency are vital to reducing congestion across Edgbaston, Harborne, Quinton and Bartley Green.
The Conservatives are committed to improving our roads, investing £7 million into fixing potholes across the West Midlands over the next year. We are also keen to provide more choice in transportation across Birmingham by improving our city’s rail network and cycling lanes. £30 million is being invested in expansions in our cycling infrastructure, while rail users will benefit from greater capacity on London Midland trains from October 2017 and our £2 million renovation of Snow Hill station.
But there is still more to be done. I have already spoken to Andy Street, the new Conservative Mayor for the West Midlands to discuss how I would be able to assist him in his ambitious programme to improve Birmingham’s transport network. If elected as your representation on June 8th, I will work tirelessly to achieve a reduction in congestion, and more transportation choice for my constituents.
